This is a work in progress. We encourage people to suggest terms to be defined here! Please no Social Justice 101 type terms - most of us know already about cis/trans and those sorts of terms (but if not, google is your friend 
). Mostly this is for Breathing Room specific lingo and abbreviations.

You know the kind of girl who thinks she doesn't need feminism? Who dumps on feminists because they "need to lighten up"? The kind of girl who thinks cat-calling and street harassment "aren't a big deal, god, learn to take a compliment"? Who genuinely doesn't see how much feminism has already done for her? Yeah. She's a fuckin' becky.
I made such a well written and thought out response to that misogynistic post and what do I get? Fuckin' beckys commenting with ignorant shit about how I need to lighten up and not be so serious.
Helen Lovejoy (noun; verb Helen Lovejoying)
From the character on The Simpsons who is often heard exclaiming "Won't somebody PLEASE think of the CHILDREN". A Helen Lovejoy in this sense is someone who waters down her feminism (and urges others to do the same) lest the men be upset about it.
I can't even tell a guy off for being a misogynist without some milksop of a Helen Lovejoy telling me I need to choose my words more carefully because oh, no, we wouldn't want to alienate the misogynists, would we?
