Respect other people - their boundaries, their opinions, their beliefs. Debate is allowed and encouraged but derision, shaming and insults are not. Also, though our primary goal is to be a space for marginalized gender groups, we will not tolerate bigotry in any form. If you are called out, please take this on board and learn from it.
Respect privacy. Posting another person's personal details or identifying information will result in your post being deleted without warning and an immediate one week ban.
Respect spaces that are not for you. By virtue of being here we all know what it feels like to have a conversation derailed by someone who holds a privilege that we don't. Whether malicious or well intentioned the result is the same. Remember the privileges that you hold, and understand that there are times when a discussion is not open to any and all participants. This is not an act of exclusion, but rather an attempt to make sure there are spaces where members of marginalized groups can speak and be heard without the input of those groups who occupy the "majority" positions in society.
Respect the aim of the board. While we aim to be as inclusive as possible, the particular aim of this board is to provide a space for people who find themselves marginalized primarily via their gender. We recognize that there are many forms of privilege and that no oppression exists in a vacuum, but realistically no space can please every single person, one hundred percent of the time. With that in mind, we welcome other safe spaces to contact us and perhaps affiliate with us, in order to provide the most support to the most people possible.
Ideally, as we are all adults, none of these rules will come as a surprise to anyone and should be fairly easy to abide by. However the admins reserve the right to add to or change these forum rules as they see fit. Infractions will be dealt with on a "three strikes" basis: first offence will incur a warning, second is week long ban, and finally a permanent ban will be issued to consistent rule breakers. In the immortal words of Willow Rosenberg: "A vague disclaimer is nobody's friend. Have fun."
